“Don’t worry about anything; instead, pray about everything; tell God your needs, and don’t forget to thank him for his answers. Phil 4:6 TLB
As I was getting ready to sleep and reviewing the year in retrospect. The words of the song Count your Blessings, name them One by One came so strong on my mind. Because I haven’t sung that song for a long time – the words came so strong and a sudden realization overwhelmed me, that God has done so much than I would want to admit. The song goes “Are you ever burdened with a load of care?
Does the cross seem heavy you are called to bear?
Count your many blessings, ev’ry doubt will fly,
And you will be singing as the days go by.
As we enter the first day of the last month, what a wonderful reminder to take the time to think about what God is doing for us. Too often we focus just on the negative things – the pandemic, the increase in prices, the evils around, devastation and famine. Our text today call us to remember to give God thanks,. after we have prayed. The tendency to walk away forgetting to give God thanks is very high with people, but it ought not to be so with us.
As the year draws to a close, take time every day to verbalize or write all you are thankful for. You will be very surprise what God has done for you. A wise man said, you might not be where you have wished to be, but you are sure not where you use to be. I believe in having a habit of daily thanking God, will kiss anxiety good bye; you will have your soul revitalized and your faith reignited.
I Declare: Dear Lord Jesus, today I cast all cares and worries on you because, I know you care and have answered me. Thank you for all the answered and yet to be answered prayers. I trust you to make things beautiful in due time.
Ignite Thought: Those who appreciate God for what he has done, have no time worrying for what is yet to come.
