Let us run with perseverance the race marked out for us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the pioneer and perfecter of faith. — Hebrews 12:1-2
I love long-distance runners, because of the dynamics involve in their sport and the agility to press on to the end. And these verses above resonate with me, as the bring the analogy of running the race that God has marked out for us. This is something we can all relate to personally. As Christians, we are encouraged to get rid of whatever is hindering us from running a good race. We need to get rid of the sin that slows us down and other incumbarances.
When you are running a race of faith, you get to a point you start getting discouraged and tempted to look elsewhere, at such points you slow down, you begin to doubt the possibility of finishing, and you begin to struggle. But as you keep looking forward to the finish, as you remain focused on Jesus as our destination a sudden realization of victory will consume your challenges and distractions, and before we know it, our outlook has determined our outcome. Keep running this race with perseverance, don’t give up, keep looking up to Jesus!
I Declare: I decree and declare that I will run my race with perseverance. My eyes are fixed on Jesus only. I won’t allow anything or anyone to hinder me, untill I reach my finish line!
Ignite Thought: If we see only the problems, we will be defeated; but if we see the possibilities in the problems, we can have victory.
