Lessons from the Ant (1)

Spread the word!

Take a lesson from the ants, you lazybones. Learn from their ways and become wise! Proverbs 6:6 NLT

You can’t stop ants from doing their work. No matter how many times you sweep away the sand they would look for ways into the cracks again. If you like do it over and again. If they can’t climb over something, they go around it, if they can’t go around it they go under it. Ants don’t give up at the face of opposition and difficulties.

Ants exemplify what it means to be self-motivated and determined. Size, lack and location are not limiting factors for them. They make no excuses and continue with the business of getting things done. No one has to whip them to move, do their work or to work together. They work for the common good. Moreover, they do not need a captain or a leader as they are disciplined and natural self-starters.

Child of God there are things God has called all of us to achieve for the sake of our king. He has called us to be zealous and on fire in our kingdom service. With God’s grace, we can love sincerely, we can hate what is evil; cling to what is good. We can be devoted to one another in love and honor one another above ourselves. We can preach the gospel everywhere as God grants us access. We can be part of a Christian community burning for the lord. This is a challenging task. It is fulltime work. But God’s grace will simply overwhelm every spiritual obstacle on our way and empower us to do His will from morning till night. And we can do it again the next day, and the next.

I Declare: Today I declare that I have the tenacity of an ant. I am not slacking down because of opposition, untill the task is done. Thank you Lord for equipping us to do your good will all day long, and every day, in Christ’s name. Amen.

Ignite Thought: Ants are always busy doing something, unlike many individuals who are busy doing nothing!
