We are pressured in every way [hedged in], but not crushed; perplexed [unsure of finding a way out], but not driven to despair; hunted down and persecuted, but not deserted [to stand alone]; struck down, but never destroyed; 2 Corinthians 4:8-9 NLT
The will of God for every believer is to make us into the image of Christ through the process of transformation. Unfortunately, change or transformation is not without pain. To be honest with you, it is a part of the process of the change from the old man to the new that none of us want to experience, yet, it is one that is of necessity in order for us to be conformed to the likeness of Christ.
In the text before us today, Apostle Paul reminds us that regardless of what is thrown at us or what we might have to endure or suffer for Christ sake, quitting is not an option for the people of God. Jesus admonished us that in this world we will have trouble, but be of good cheer for He has overcome the world. I know that no matter how strong our resolve, sometimes we get frustrated and want to give up—whether that happens at work, training for a big race, or even a relationship. But you have gone too far with God to give up now, hold on a while longer, you are rising gloriously.
Precious child of God, do not lose heart. Even though the struggle is real and may appear hard at times, remember, our outward man is perishing, yet our inward man is being renewed day by day. God is intentionally weaving every experience of to make us better in the process. You may feel knocked down, but you are not knocked out! With Jesus on our side you will bounce back again overwhelmingly victorious.
I Declare: I have the grace I need for today. I am full of power, strength, and determination. Nothing I face will be unbearable. I will overcome every obstacle, outlast every challenge, I am coming through every difficulty better off than I was before, because God is for me and with me!
Ignite Thought: A temporary knock down does not mean a permanent knock out.
