…they are like clouds blowing over the land without giving any rain. They are like trees in autumn that are doubly dead, for they bear no fruit and have been pulled up by the roots. Jude 12NLT
Jude described to us false brethren who crept into the fold of believers. As soon as the Church was founded, false brethren, teachers, and prophets crept in. They have been amongst God’s people since then. Jude says above that these false teachers are “clouds without water.” What a description! They had a form without substance.
It is good to note that a cloud in the Old Testament was a symbol of God’s presence. In this context, it is the source of water or rain, which remains the most important physical element for life and a very precious resource in that time. The presence or absence of rain in ancient Israel was a matter of life or death. Cloud was a symbol of heaven’s favorable response to send rain that made the earth fruitful. These false teachers presented themselves as clouds. They came as people sent from God to bring salvation, healing, freedom, deliverance, and joy to the people.
However, they came as clouds but had no water. They promised the people a lot—deliverance, healing, prosperity, peace etc., except that the people never get delivered, healed, or prosperous. They have a form of godliness, but there is no true power. They come as sheep( Christlike) but speak and live as wolves( devilish). Like the fig tree of Jesus day, they look promising outside, but in reality they can’t deliver on what their looks promises . They are fake and fruitless!
I Declare: I decree and declare that my life and journey with God is fruitful. I deliver to my generation the supernatural deposits in me. Because I am a God carrier, I quench the thirst of my generation and satisfy their hunger.
Ignite Thought: You lose credibility and functionality when you over promise and under deliver.
