“I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.” John 15:5
Our consistent connection to Jesus is what would guarantee us consistent and long lasting fruitfulness. If you want to make your life count, then take heed to the words of Jesus. He says, “I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing.”
God’s primary concern is not our comfort or happiness, but our fruitfulness. God loves us so much and he wants us to bear fruit. He wants our fruit to be the reason many people will come to know Him. Because a tree is known by it’s fruits. We need to let the gardener prune the self-centeredness and selfishness out of our lives so that we can truly remain in Jesus and bear fruit for his kingdom—“fruit that will last.” Then others will enjoy God’s goodness and be drawn to him also.
The challenge before us today is the ct that we can’t bear God’s fruit all by ourselves. Jesus makes it clear when he says, “Apart from me you can do nothing” in the way of bearing fruit. Christ is our lifeline, and he calls us to stay connected to him by abiding. Rather than living our own way, let’s learn the practice of abiding, and God will supply all we need in order to do bear His kind of fruit.
I Declare: My life is fruitful because I am connected to the giver of life! I am not stagnant nor barren, I am fruitful. I resist any temptation to stay disconnected from you
Ignite Thought: Disconnection from God breeds unfruitfulness and death.
