and He took the seven loaves and the fish; and after giving thanks, He broke them and started giving them to the disciples, and the disciples gave them to the crowds. Mathew 15:36 NASB
Gratitude is a miracle-creating attitude. It has the power to transform seemingly unsolvable situations. When you thank and praise God in the midst of a problem, he will do a miracle and turn things around. Gratitude is a game- changing, table-turning attitude.
Our text today demonstrates the power of thanksgiving. Imagine Jesus, faced with a multitude of hungry people in the wilderness with little or nothing to give them to eat. By the time the laid hands on some provisions, it was nothing in comparison to the people. Have you been there before, when you have more bills with less cash, or in a crowd but lonely. Jesus teaches us, that when faced with such a situation; regardless of the condition and environment we are to give thanks to God. Jesus took the loaves of bread and fishes and began to give thanks, that’s when God did a miracle. The text said after he gave thanks, abundant provision came through and everyone ate and was satisfied.
I don’t know what kind of freedom you need. I have no idea what kind of miracle you’re asking God for today, but I know thanksgiving is the key. Gratitude will do miracles in your life as it releases the power of God. Instead of complaining about your problems, start counting your blessings. I want to challenge you to cultivate an attitude of gratitude. Spend time thanking God for all he is and all he has done in your life.
I Declare: Father, today I declare my gratitude to YOU for who you are and for what YOU have done. I will not take for granted the people, opportunities and provisions YOU have blessed me with. Thank you for what you have placed in my life, multiply it to your glory!
Ignite Thought: People who are not grateful end up as great fools!
