So, my dear brothers and sisters, be strong and immovable. Always work enthusiastically for the Lord, for you know that nothing you do for the Lord is ever useless. 1 Corinthians 15:58 NLT
God can do anything He desires, but has chosen humans to be His co-laborers. It takes God’s provision and an individual’s “work” to produce the harvest. Without God, we can do nothing. Without our effort and cooperation, God won’t accomplish His aims.
God does this, not because He is weak, but because He is faithful to His covenant. God appointed Adam and Eve to tend the Garden, and the Garden would supply what they needed. This covenant of provision and performance stands. And the guarantee is that whatever we do in and through God will always bear fruit.
As we go about working, remember Col 3:23-24 Whatever you do, do it from the heart, as something done for the Lord and not for people, knowing that you will receive the reward of an inheritance from the Lord. You serve the Lord Christ”. We need to have this holistic and inclusive perspective about whatever work it is we are doing. It is possible, according to Colossians, for us to mow grass, wash cars or teach in a school as unto the Lord. This is a different perspective indeed that just “putting your nose to the grindstone” in order to bring home something.
I Declare: Today I DECLARE God’s incredible blessings over my life. I will see an explosion of God’s goodness, a sudden widespread increase. I will experience the surpassing greatness of God’s favor. I will see an explosion of God’s goodness, a sudden widespread increase. I am blessed to do blessed things!
Ignite Thought:Those who do things as unto the lord have no time for the acceptance and endorsement of men.
