Yet, with respect to the promise of God, he did not waver in unbelief but grew strong in faith, giving glory to God. Romans 4:20
Abraham was a man of faith. He believed in God’s promise to make his descendants as many as the stars in the sky or the sands on the sea. That’s saying something considering he didn’t have his son Isaac until he was 100 years old. Paul tells us in Romans that Abraham never wavered in unbelief but grew strong in faith. Do you have the perseverance to grow strong in faith? Are you willing to wait years for God’s promise to come true? Even more, are you willing to give God the glory while you wait? Abraham was fully convinced that God was able to do what He promised.
Waiting on God is not laziness, it is not even the abandonment of work. waiting on God means doing what god requires of you while patiently looking forward to what he has promised. waiting on GOD is sure at the top of the list of hard things to do. You see a lot of people in the Bible waiting on the Lord. To those who persevere, you see a wonderful result. To those who don’t, there is a trail of calamity that follows. Learning to wait can’t be sped up. You have to put in the hours. god doesn’t waste our waiting, he uses it to conform us to the image of his son.
If you are convinced that God promised you something, then learn to be content in waiting. God’s timing is the best, and He will fulfill His promise to you when it best suits Him. faith in God also includes faith in his timing. Don’t waver in your belief but grow strong in your faith. People may cast doubts but stay focused on Jesus
I Declare: Heavenly Father, thank you for the heart that waits in faith. Build in me the assurance that you are at work and in control. Help me to see and to rejoice in the fruit that you are bearing in and through my life and in the lives of those around me—in the small things as well as the big things
Ignite Thought: What God is doing in you during the wait, is greater than what you are waiting for.
