There Is A Way of Escape

Spread the word!

We all experience times of testing, which is normal for every human being. But God will be faithful to you. He will screen and filter the severity, nature, and timing of every test or trial you face so that you can bear it. And each test is an opportunity to trust him more, for along with every trial God has provided for you a way of escape that will bring you out of it victoriously

I Cor 10:13 TPT

The devil hardly gives up on his target; three times he tried to disguise a temptation as something good. Turning stones to bread would have sounded good to someone who has fasted for 40 days and is very hungry. Same tactics he used in deceiving Eve in the garden, there is no new tactics to his agenda. Satan loves misquoting the scriptures; twisting its meaning to get the gullible. But because Jesus overcame by re-affirming the word and using it to resist the devil, we too can overcome!

For the third time, the devil tried to dribble Jesus with an offer to give him all the power and authority he deserved. But Jesus again turned to the scriptures, showing that a believer armed with God’s word is always stronger than any temptation the devil can throw at us. From Jesus our example, we know that the way of escape from every trap of the enemy is the power of the revealed written word.

Because Jesus was tempted we know that He understands and He will stand with us, as we go through our own temptations giving us the strength to overcome. Remember Heb 4:14-16 says…So then, we must cling in faith to all we know to be true. For we have a magnificent King-Priest, Jesus Christ, the Son of God, who rose into the heavenly realm for us, and now sympathizes with us in our frailty. He understands humanity, for as a man; our magnificent King-Priest was tempted in every way just as we are, and conquered sin. So now we draw near freely and boldly to where grace is enthroned, to receive mercy’s kiss and discover the grace we urgently need to strengthen us in our time of weakness.

I declare: Lord, today I make a fresh commitment of storing your word in my heart. I declare that I won’t trip at the slightest temptation, because of the power of the word. I overcome sickness, sin and Satan.

Ignite Thought: Whenever the devil asks you if God really said, reply him with “it is written”!
