I have fought the good (worthy, honorable, and noble) fight, I have finished the race, I have kept (firmly held) the faith. – 2 Timothy 4:7 AMPC
Science says we need oxygen and so daily we fight to keep our atmosphere clean, we tell each other to plant trees, we go after industries for how poisonous their fumes are; we complain about gaseous activity and the effect on the ozone layer. What oxygen is to the physical body is what faith is to the spirit man. The very thing critical to life and normal functioning of the spirit. Little wonder the Bible says that without this vital element in the spirit, it is impossible to please God.
The amazing thing about this spiritual element is that you can neglect it, letting the fumes of the world pollute it, cutting down trees of word study and fellowship and prayer until the little you have is no more or you can level up, nurture it, and like a budding flower tend to it till it blooms, keeping it alive.
I Declare: Help me Lord to never forget that the only race worth running is this race of faith, help me run hard to the finish line, believing all the way.
Ignite Thought: Life is a journey, a ride, and a battle. To see the finish line, you must either keep your faith or lose it.
