However, I consider my life worth nothing to me; my only aim is to finish the race and complete the task the Lord Jesus has given me—the task of testifying to the good news of God’s grace. Acts 20:24 NIV
Christian commitment is like a marathon race. There are fresh, eager faces as the gun sounds to begin the race, but along the grueling, 26-mile route, one person after another drops out before the finish, and that’s not God’s will for us. If you don’t seriously face God’s call for you, it could amount to a terrible tragedy. Scripture says that the time is short. God has given us an open door, and He has given us the tools and the technology to touch the whole world if you and I mean business.
Every creature of God has been assigned a task. God assigned a task for you in your family, in the church, in your working place/offices. There is a message that only you can bring to the world. There are persons perishing because you have refused to embark on the mission God input in your spirit right now. There are cries for help in Macedonia waiting for you to come to their aid. There is a family/nation still in their Egypt waiting for you to liberate through the power of God. Are you still on it or have you deserted it? You may be the Gideon that will overthrow the enemies that have embarrassed your lineage for long or the Jonah created to preach salvation to your family or community.
Today the Holy Spirit speaks to those contemplating running away from the task/work assigned to them to remain and finish it. The Holy Spirit speaks to those who have left their task uncompleted to return to it and complete the task. The Holy Spirit reminds you that God’s will is for you to complete every good work He begun with you. You are called to finish the course. God wants you to complete the task, and finish it well, finish it strong and finish it with joy.
I Declare: I have sufficient grace to run my Christian race and to finish my ministry task without wavering. My eyes are fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of my faith.
Ignite Thought: Those who don’t run the Christian race cannot effectively do the Christian’s task.
