All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, and all are justified freely by his grace through the redemption that came by Christ Jesus.
God would not have been found guilty of committing injustice if he had left all people “in sin and under the curse” of death. Reason is all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,” and the penalty of this sin is death. It’s clear, whether you’re a rich business mogul, a professor, a student, in Africa or America. Scriptures says all sinned and are deprived of God’s glory. We are all incapable of saving ourselves from the quagmire of sin. We are stuck in this misery and totally unable to do any good that could help us earn our way out.
Yet there’s hope. There’s more to be learned as we read God’s Word. There’s a righteousness that we can’t earn but that is given through faith in Jesus Christ to all who believe. This good news is also announced in Romans 6:23, which reads in full, “The wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.” Jesus is God’s gift to the entire world, and whosoever believes in His sacrificial dead, burial and resurrection. Whether they are men or women, rich or poor, our belief in Jesus does not just rescue us from the danger of eternal dead, it bestows on us eternal life and all its attendant benefits.
Keep reading these words and let them sink in. We are redeemed from the curse of eternal dead and every consequence of sin through the perfect gift of Jesus. We are free to enjoy the abundant life through grace by faith in Jesus.
I Declare: I declare that I have been made right with God through the sacrifice of Jesus Christ. I am justified freely, I am no longer bound. Today I decree that the life around me aligns to the power of eternal life in me.
Ignite Thought: Grace imparts on us the very nature of God and causes us to reign in life!
