Taking a Stand

And the Lord said unto Moses, “Rise up early in the morning and stand before Pharaoh. Lo, he cometh forth to the water, and say unto him, ‘Thus saith the Lord: Let My people go, that they may serve Me.

Exodus 8:20, 22 NKJV

After God got ready to deliver His people, He asked Moses to be the means He will use to speak His words to Pharaoh and all of Egypt. Initially, Moses resisted, telling God he was the wrong man. Finally, he agreed. As Moses prayed, God gave him the words to say to Pharaoh. Over time, Moses realized that he had no reason to fear as long as he stayed faithful and depended on God.

Some believers don’t seem ready to make the same kind of uncompromising commitment, like Moses’ initial response, we seem hesitant. The Bible reminds us that God has a plan for each life. He calls and equips us to accomplish His purposes. He looks to see how we respond and whether we trust Him and are ready to move forward by faith.

Today do not give in to the pressure to compromise or worry about popular approval. You may face opposition but if you are faithful, you can trust God to protect and provide for you and use you to accomplish His purposes. Pray and listen to His voice. Declare His promises to be true in your life. Seek to live according to His principles. Be bold in your faith, take a stand and stand out!

My Declaration And Confession: My Father in heaven, I surrender my life to You. Use me in my community, my family, and in my workplace. Speak to others through me. I receive help to stand for you even when it seems unpopular.

Ignite Thought: Those who speak for God must also stand up for Him without fear or favour.
