When Christ, who is our life, shall appear, then shall ye also appear with him in glory.
Colossians 3:4 (KJV)
As a born again New Testament believer, it is not sufficient to know and relate with Jesus on the basis of Him just being our Savior and soon coming King. Our revelation of Him must go beyond our intercessor and the true and only God, we would need as a matter of importance lay hold on the truth of the scriptures as revealed in our text today that Christ is our life. A believer has no other life outside of this reality. But when we all allow this truth to settle in and permeate every other area of our life, we would begin to see the power and victory of the risen Christ manifested through us on a daily basis.
The acceptance of this current reality delivers us from the life of self-dependence and self-generated effort to please God, to that of recognizing and accepting by faith that the life we now live, we do so by faith through the indwelling Christ that is in us. Christ is our life now and in the hereafter. We have a vital union with Christ Jesus. Christ is so joined to the believer that we have been raised with Him. “You died, and your life is now hid with Christ.” Christ is our life. We now possess within us the resurrection life. The resurrection life is your life. It is from this position that we live the Christian life.
My declaration and confession: Lord, thank you for the new life i have in Jesus Christ. Today i declare that based on my relationship with Jesus, i have a new identification with Christ. I was “dead” with Christ, I was “buried” with Christ, I was “made alive” with Christ, I was”risen” with Christ, my life is “hidden” with Christ, and I shall “appear” with Christ.
Ignite Thought: Christianity is Christ living His resurrection life in and thorough us.
