Greater Together

That their hearts may be encouraged, being knit together in love, to reach all the riches of full assurance of understanding and the knowledge of God’s mystery, which is Christ,

Colossians 2:2 (ESV)

Paul in our text today describes the Christian community as a people “knit together in love” it is like a well-made fabric made of beautiful threads uniting together. On the outside the threads might look and consist of different colors and thickness, some stretch vertically whiles others horizontally. In many ways we look very different and yet very unique. It is good to know that regardless of these differences, there is a harmony of design as the elements are woven together into a whole.

That is exactly how God knits His people together; we are different people with different personalities and backgrounds, different interests and perspectives. On the surface, there seems to be conflicts, yet in the economy of God He is building us to blend together. He knits us together in love through Christ. When He brings us together, our differences begin to give way for a new identity; at this point our differences don’t oppose each other but complement each other even unto accomplishing a deeper aspect of a greater mission. We don’t achieve this feat through unity in similarity, but unity in diversity. we are different by design by united by decision.

It is time we trust God to harmonize each one of us with other believers. Stop looking at other believers as rivals or competitors; we are parts of the same fabric knit together to showcase a beautiful dimension of God. If you give this truth attention, you will come to the realization that we are far more alike than we think, we are greater together!

My declaration and confession: Lord, help me today to walk in the consciousness that \where there is unity there will always be victory. i choose to walk in love, which binds everything together in perfect harmony.

Ignite Thought: Life is better and greater when lived in the context of a community.
