But everything I said through my servants the prophets happened to your ancestors, just as I said. As a result, they repented and said, ‘We have received what we deserved from the LORD of Heaven’s Armies. He has done what he said he would do.
Zechariah 1:6 (NLT)
God’s word speaks and addresses people of all ages and races in different and in all walks of life. Nothing and no one is exempted from its decrees and dictates; both the rich and poor, literate and illiterate, old and young we must all come under the scouting of the word, because His commands, promises and requirements are applicable to all, to think otherwise is an invitation to doom.
It was Isaiah that said that the Word cannot return void, but must accomplish the purpose for which it is been sent to anyone and anything. The consequence of the word is solidly dependent on the alignment of the person or the situation the Word was sent to. But for better or worse the word must prosper by executing exactly what it was promised.
The people in our text today in the message translation of the Bible says, “we didn’t get by a thing.” People may seem to have gotten away from the promised consequence of the Word; but it’s only for a while, everyone and everything comes right under the reach of the Word. God will always have the last say by the power of His Word. It is to our advantage we submit to the direction of His Word, because we are either blessed by believing it or facing the consequence of rejecting it, there is no middle ground!
My declaration and confession: Lord, help me to take your word serious in every aspect; I believe that your Word is true and will always accomplished what is is sent out to do!
Ignite Thought: We are either blessed by believing the Word of God, or facing the consequence of rejecting it!
