This Book of the Law shall not depart from your mouth, but you shall read [and meditate on] it day and night, so that you may be careful to do [everything] in accordance with all that is written in it; for then you will make your way prosperous, and then you will be successful.
Joshua 1:8 (NKJV)
The word of God is to the human spirit what food is to the human body. That is why it’s important to not only ‘read’ God’s Word, but to meditate (chew and ruminate) on it day and night. It is only when we know what God’s Word says, that we will be able to obey it and apply it to our daily lives thereby enforcing the good life God has for us. Everything about our everyday life has been addressed in the book, and it is by living according to God’s Word, aligning our thinking to His truth, we will make our way prosperous and successful. God’s favor will be upon us, but we need to be careful not to sway to the left or right—but walk with fixed purpose!
If we want to know the Glory of God, if we want to experience the beauty of God, and if we want to be used by the hand of God, then we must LIVE in the WORD of God. Our success and relevance in life is greatly dependent on the effect the word has in us as believers. The presence of the Word in our hearts would guarantee the absence of sin and it’s effect, in order words where the word is absent, sin would be present. Psalm 119:11. We can only live victorious lives by meditating on God’s Word and allowing His Word to ‘soak’ us. It’s then that we begin to change—to be transformed.
Today desire the word more than your necessary food, dive deep into it and stay in the depth of God’s Word—allow the Holy Spirit to teach you, reveal His truth, guide you, renew your mind and revive your soul! The more the word grows in you, the more you will prevail.
My declaration and confession: Today is a new day, I study and store the word of God in my heart. I live above sin and Satan through the power of God’s word.
Ignite Thought: If we want to know the Glory of God and experience His beauty, then we must learn to LIVE in the WORD of God.
