And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion over the fish of the sea, and over the fowl of the air, and over every living thing that moveth upon the earth.
Genesis 1:28 (KJV)
The first divine words ever spoken to mankind was “Be fruitful and multiply”. Same words were spoken to Noah and his offspring after the flood, signifying that the intent of God for man has not changed a bit. Even Jesus at the close of his earthly ministry, took time to emphasize the need to be fruitful to his followers. In John 15:4 Jesus tells us that fruitfulness is a product of abiding(intimacy).
From these words, we see clearly that God wants His people to be fruitful and multiply, not just numerically but in every aspect. He wants us to approach life, our gifts, talents and resources with the mindset of multiplication; God does not want us to be indifferent and stagnant. God wants us to constantly look for ways to be fruitful and increase what we have, including spreading the gospel.
Jesus taught the same principles in Matthew 25, He rewarded those that reproduced but condemned the one that refused to. Today, consider all the resources at your disposal, time, talents and treasures. Don’t sit back passively, but look for godly and creative ways of investing such opportunities in fulfilling God’s mandate. Stay connected to the source of your life and see every area of your life flow in supernatural fruitfulness.
My declaration and confession: “Today I declare that I am fruitful both in value and volume and my products are dominating the systems of the world”.
Ignite Thought: All fruitfulness flows from intimacy. If it has no roots, it bears no fruits!
