Guided Thoughts

Spread the word!

“…For the rest, brethren, whatever is true, whatever is worthy of reverence and is honorable and seemly, whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and lovable, whatever is kind and winsome and gracious, if there is any virtue and excellence, if there is anything worthy of praise, think on and weigh and take account of these things [fix your minds on them]…”

Philippians 4:8 (AMP)

Our thoughts are like missiles, if we don’t guide them, they will end up doing more harm than good. If only we would apply this scripture to everything in our lives, we would be careful what we allow our hearts to dwell on. Because whatever dominates our hearts determines the course and direction our lives take. Good thinking would always lead to good living!

There are many unholy, unlovely and impure things in this world. It’s there all around us. It’s so important not to allow ourselves to dwell on these things that are contrary to God’s word, so we ourselves are not caught up in them. We need to dwell on what is pure and lovely. God’s word is the place to start.

We also can dwell on negative thinking towards others or ourselves that needs to be replaced with positive thinking. We can be products of our upbringing, but we don’t have to stay that way. God can bring about change in our thinking. His word is truth, and this truth will set us free. As we dwell on what is true, pure, lovely, kind and gracious – it will transform us!

Think on these things! Whatever is true, wholesome and kind, just and pure, let it saturate our minds!

My declaration and confession: “My mind dwells on what is true, what is praiseworthy, what is pure and what is gracious. Because I think godly thoughts I will exhibit a godly life”.

Ignite Thought: The quality of our thoughts determine the quality of our lives.
